The prominent Swedish scientist Karl von Linne states, "As compared to other animals, Man's external and internal structure shows that fruit and vegetables constitute his natural food." Scientists argue that human body is not adapted to consume meat very well.
Anatomy of man is closely related to herbivorous than carnivorous animals. Human don’t have claws, tongue, sharp teeth, short intestinal length, strong hydrochloric acid in stomach to digest meat, salivary glands in mouth not needed to pre-digest grains and fruits, acid saliva with no enzyme ptyalin to pre-digest grains while humans have alkaline saliva with ptyalin to pre-digest grains.
If humans were meant to eat meat we wouldn't have so many crucial ingestive/digestive similarities with herbivores animals.
The ADA (American Dietetic Association) says that most of mankind for most of human history has lived on a vegetarian or Lacto-ovo vegetarian diet.
